About the Author

Ryoji Arai has a high influence in Japan and internationally. He is the first Japanese writer to win the "Swedish Third Lindgren Memorial Prize for Literature", known as the "Nobel Prize for Literature in Children's Books". A proud art master, he was evaluated by NHK as "the Arai Ryoji of the world" and is also internationally recognized as one of the representative Japanese picture book writers.
