About the Author

Miyanishi Tatsuya was born in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan in 1956. He graduated from the Fine Arts Department of the Faculty of Arts of Nihon University. After engaging in stage art and graphic design for puppet plays, he began to create picture books, which are deeply loved by readers. His works are unique with their warm and humorous stories and powerful painting style. He has won the Kodansha Publishing Culture Award Picture Book Award, Kenbuchi Picture Book Award and other awards.
